Visa at Monro
A Visa card is the most familiar way into the Monro cashier and, on the return leg, one of the slowest. A deposit from EUR 20 credits instantly; a payout back to the same card takes 1-3 business days once the cashier has cleared the request. Everything below is about the two places where cards actually cause trouble: the bank on the way in, and the calendar on the way out. All rails side by side are on the payments page.

Depositing with a Visa card
- Open the cashier on the deposit tab and select Visa.
- Enter the card number, expiry date and CVV, then an amount of at least EUR 20.
- Confirm the payment in the 3-D Secure prompt from your bank, usually inside the banking app.
- The balance updates immediately and the funds are playable at once.
Credit, debit and prepaid Visa cards are all accepted, and the card has to be issued in your own name. If you intend to claim the welcome bonus, tick the box before confirming the payment — an offer cannot be attached to a deposit after the fact.
3-D Secure: the step that decides everything
3-D Secure is the layer where the issuing bank, not the casino, approves the transaction. It usually appears as a push notification with a short confirmation window, and letting that window expire is one of the two most common reasons a perfectly valid card fails. The second is having online payments switched off on the card entirely, which many Latvian banks ship as the default and which is a single toggle in the app.
Why the bank declines merchant code 7995
Every merchant carries a category code, and gambling operators are tagged 7995. Some issuers block that code outright as a matter of policy, some allow it only after the customer opts in, and some let it through without comment. When a Visa payment is refused instantly with no 3-D Secure prompt at all, this is very often the reason — the money never left, nothing was charged, and no amount of retrying will change the outcome.
Two things resolve it: a call to your bank asking whether category 7995 is permitted on the card, or switching to a rail that does not touch the card schemes. Trustly is the obvious substitute for a player in Latvia, since it authorises inside the same bank with Smart-ID and pays out in 1-2 hours instead of days.
Payouts back to the card
The minimum withdrawal is EUR 20, and the ceilings are EUR 5,000 per day and EUR 20,000 per calendar month. Every request first passes internal cashier review of up to 12 hours, after which the card network needs 1-3 business days, so a realistic total across a normal working week is 2-4 days. Weekends do not count, which is the single biggest difference between a card payout and a crypto one.
| Operation | Minimum | Timing | Operator fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit | EUR 20 | Instant | None |
| Withdrawal | EUR 20 | 1–3 business days after review | None |
Money returns to the card that funded the account, up to the amount deposited; anything beyond that can be routed to another available method. If the card has since expired or been reissued, support has to be told before the request is filed, otherwise the payment bounces and the whole cycle restarts.
Conversion: the fee nobody quotes
Monro charges no commission on either leg. Your issuer might, and the trigger is currency. The gaming account is denominated in euro, so a euro card moves money at face value with nothing deducted. A card held in another currency is converted by the bank at its own rate with the margin already inside it, and the same conversion happens again in reverse on the payout — two exchanges per cycle, invisible in the moment and perfectly visible in the statement. For anyone banking in Latvia this is an argument for keeping both the card and the account in euro.
The card photo for KYC
Before the first payout the account is verified once: an eID card or passport, a proof of address no older than three months, and a proof of the payment method. For a card that last item is a photograph where only the first six and the last four digits remain visible — everything in the middle is covered, and the CVV on the reverse is covered as well. No legitimate operator asks for a full card number or a CVV image, and a request that does is a reason to stop. Document review takes 24-48 hours and is never repeated.
When something goes wrong
- Instant decline with no 3-D Secure prompt — most likely merchant category 7995 blocked by the issuer.
- Decline after the prompt — an expired confirmation window or an exhausted online-payment limit.
- Amount below EUR 20 — the cashier will not accept it on any rail.
- Card in someone else’s name — rejected, and it will surface later at verification regardless.
- A payout that vanished — usually a reissued card; support can redirect it once told.
Live chat runs 24/7 and normally answers within 2-5 minutes; have the amount, the exact time and the last four digits ready. Filing a formal dispute is described under complaints.
